Industry Recognition: 2012 OnDemand 100 Top Private Company & CRN Coolest Cloud Infrastructure Vendor

Friday, March 23rd, 2012 by

It’s always difficult to be self-congratulatory, but when two distinct organizations post articles putting GoGrid in the limelight, I feel that they have to be mentioned. The two sites, CRN and OnDemand, both posted articles that we, as a company, are proud of. If you are a current customer of GoGrid, you should be proud as well, as it is a recognition of your selection process in making GoGrid your cloud partner.

The first to appear was on CRN, a website providing news, analysis and perspectives for VARs and technology integrators. In his article, author Andrew Hickey, lists out “The 20 Coolest Cloud Infrastructure Vendors” of which GoGrid is one of the 20.

As Hickey describes:

If you want to be in the cloud business, these are some of the cloud infrastructure companies that will help you get there. These are the providers that will host your customers’ business applications and provision them on-demand as Software-as-a-Service. They will store customers’ data in the cloud and secure it there as well. Whether customers want to use a private cloud, a public cloud or a hybrid mixture of both, these companies can help make it happen. And they can even help your customers exchange their expensive legacy hardware for a simple monthly payment plan.

GoGrid Offers Hosted Private Cloud Built on Proven Public Cloud Technology (Press Release)

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 by

As mentioned within The Wall Street Journal yesterday, GoGrid has a new Cloud service offering, namely a Hosted Private Cloud for enterprises and corporations. GoGrid’s Hosted Private Cloud provides a private, secure and dedicated infrastructure environment with all of the benefits of cloud computing, leveraging the powerful technology and management layers of our public cloud, GoGrid.com. What sets it apart from other “Private Clouds” in the marketplace is that it is run and managed by GoGrid, effectively converting CapEx to OpEx and eliminating costly expenses typically associated with in-house data center build-outs and management. GoGrid Hosted Private Clouds are dedicated to single corporations and with all of the characteristics of cloud computing: self-service, on-demand, managed via a portal or API, and scalable.

Benchmarking Site CloudHarmony’s Service Level Agreement Study Shows GoGrid at the Top for Reliability and SLA Terms

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011 by

This past weekend, cloud benchmarking site CloudHarmony released a case study of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for public cloud services titled “Do SLAs Really Matter? A 1 Year Case Study of 38 Cloud Services” and GoGrid was notably featured at the top of SLAs provided in the marketplace.

The CloudHarmony Study

The study includes Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) vendors who provide services like cloud servers, cloud storage and CDNs as well as Platform as a Service (PaaS) vendors as well. For their study, they used Panopta (a monitoring, outage confirmation and availability service) as well as a manual process to confirm and document any outages that were greater than 5 minutes. The full result of CloudHarmony’s comprehensive documentation and audit of SLAs is included in their post.

From the survey, CloudHarmony writes:

“GoGrid: provides a 100x credit policy combined with 100% SLA for any hardware and network outages and no minimum thresholds (e.g. 1 hour outage = 100 hour credit). This is by far the most generous of the 38 IaaS vendors we evaluated. GoGrid’s service is also one of the most reliable IaaS services we currently monitor (100% US West and 99.999% US East)”

GoGrid Listed in Datamation’s “10 Cloud Computing Leaders”

Thursday, May 27th, 2010 by

Want to see a quick list of the top 10 Cloud Computing players in the space? (And yes, GoGrid is obviously one of those otherwise I wouldn’t be mentioning this article.) Yesterday, Jeff Vance published an article titled “Ten Cloud Computing Leaders” on Datamation where he briefly describes his thoughts on the leaders in the Cloud Computing space.

As Vance writes about each Cloud provider, he breaks down his analysis into answering a few key questions:

  1. Why they are a leader today
  2. Why the could be on top in years to come
  3. Who the Key Executives are
  4. Who their Customers are

I have always found that doing comparisons of Cloud-related companies to be quite a difficult task since products and services can vary so dramatically. And, obviously, there are other factors and metrics that simply cannot be listed in these types of “summary” articles, things like hosting experience, feature-to-feature comparisons, breadth & depth of product and services offerings, etc. However, if you are looking for an organized snapshot of the current leaders, you might want to give Vance’s article a good read.

Companies listed in this top ten are: (more…) «GoGrid Listed in Datamation’s “10 Cloud Computing Leaders”»
