Matthew,

You're right that we could have handled this better. Myself, Michael Sheehan, and our new Service Team Manager, Tom Blossom are planning how we'll make these kinds of releases better in terms of communicating the bugfix scopes and impact more clearly.

We really appreciate your patience. In hindsight we realize it was more critical than we previously thought. There were some cases where when we measured the performance where we see very pathological behavior that did not arise in our initial tests.

Best,

Although I think I'd qualify this as a critical bugfix, not a performance improvement. The servers were largely undeployable without it. The fix seems to have resolved issues on our servers.

Initially there was some difficulty since although I applied the bugfix upon release, I didn't reboot the servers (because the wording didn't seem to indicate it's critical nature). Once the servers were rebooted and the fix took effect our problem went away.

Yes, fixed the issue. I'm none-to-happy about GoGrid's deployment of the fix, the notice could have indicated it's critical nature and saved me and my client several hours of headache.
